  6. MidiPlay 2.58 can play format 0 and 1 MIDI files. It can also print their
  7. contents. MidiPlay supports also MIDI karaoke files. This version requires
  8. OS 2.04 or greater.  If you want to play MIDI files and really hear them,
  9. your Amiga should be connected to a synth via MIDI interface. This program
  10. is giftware.

  12. New features since v2.31d:

  14. o all loading and playing routines now in a shared library called
  15.   miditune.library
  16. o reqtools.library now optional, ASL file requester used as default.
  17. o better support for karaoke files, lyric window changed: resizable,
  18.   no more lyrictype button, more rows of lyric shown, also those words
  19.   shown that should be sung later and the current word highlighted.
  20.   The best support for the soft karaoke files, but works also with files
  21.   which have normal lyric events. You can control the font and the
  22.   colors of the lyric window with options LYRICFONT and LYRICCOLORS.
  23. o CHANNELMAP feature lets you make program change maps also for
  24.   individual channels
  25. o new kind of selection window with name selection also
  26. o menus reorganized
  27. o Playlist window changed: resizable, no more path text gadget, edit
  28.   gadget opens now a file requester, Select => Play now called Lock.
  29. o Text Event Window now Track Name Window, shows only tracknames of
  30.   the current MIDI file, no more check box gadgets
  31. o Intro play feature which lets you play only few seconds of each file
  32. o MidiPlay can be opened on a public screen with PUBSCREEN option
  33. o You can transpose all note on/off messages to be merged by a certain
  34.   amount with MERGETRANSPOSE command
  35. o With SENDMIDIDATA you can transmit different MIDI messages to MIDI out.
  36. o Other new ARexx commands: SELECTNUMBER, SELECTBUFFER

  42. o Playlist window for editing the playlist and selecting from it
  43. o GM support: program change mapping (with bank changes), drum mapping

  45. o ARexx support: MidiPlay recognizes over 90 different ARexx commands
  46. o with MESSAGEREXX, FILENAMEREXX and FILETYPEREXX parameters you can
  47.   e.g. hear messages and filenames via say command, view text files
  48.   associated with MIDI files or decompress archived MIDI files
  49. o VOLUMECHANGE feature lets you increase/decrease volume on any channel
  50. o MIDI channels can be muted or soloed
  51. o MIDI events can be transposed
